Massachusetts Support Groups and Mental Health Specialists

“Deep grief sometimes is almost like a specific location, a coordinate on a map of time. When you are standing in that forest of sorrow, you cannot imagine that you could ever find your way to a better place. But if someone can assure you that they themselves have stood in that same place, and now have moved on, sometimes this will bring hope.” - Elizabeth Gilbert

Talking among those who understand your pain can be helpful on your path to healing. I have organized a list of mental health specialists and pregnancy loss support groups based on location - please let me know if you cannot find your city on your list.

After you’ve spoken to a therapist or support group ask yourself:

  • Do I feel like I can trust this therapist or support group leader?

  • Did the therapist or support group leader seem knowledgeable and competent regarding the issues around pregnancy loss?

  • Did I feel understood and heard when I spoke?

  • Did the therapist or support group leader seem empathetic to my situation?
