Your birth story is sacred. I photograph births exactly as they occur - the jubilation, the fear, the anxiety, the excitement, the vulnerability. This means being honest in my storytelling and using photographs to capture your facial expression as you let out a primal, triumphant roar, the sweat building on your brow, the delicate hand you extend to your partner, your strength as you navigate the ebbs and flow of your contractions, your “I did it” smile as you kiss your baby for the first time. This is all part of your sacred birth story.
As a birth doula, I bear witness to incredibly raw moments. As a Boston birth photographer, I capture these moments with the utmost sensitivity. I often bring my camera when clients are in labor in the event that they wish to have images captured of these one-in-a-lifetime moments. It is always a treat to share these images with clients, to give them a glimpse of moments they do not recall because they were so taken by emotion, to surprise them with sweet images of their faces as they marvel at their little one for the first time.
